The Expanded Definition Version of the Books of Jame, Peter, John, and Jude from the Holy Bible Including 70 Devotions

351 Pages of Impacting Bible Study

Brother Mark has finished his first book which a devotional book on the Epistles of James, Peter, John, and Jude.  This book begins with a new Bible translation of these books called the "Expanded Definition Version" or "EDV."  The EDV attempts to extract all of the possible meanings out of the Greek and to incorporate them into the translation.  For example, as a dictionary has synonyms, sentences, and even paragraphs to define a word, so the EDV will go into this same detail to define the meanings of certain words.  Along with this translation are 70 Devotions where Brother Mark shares experiences from his life and from the lives of both Western and Asian Christians which impart impacting Biblical truths.

The EDV is not an authoritative translation of the Bible, but it is a paraphrased version that attempts to give the reader the full meaning of the Greek Texts.  It's like when your pastor says, "The Bible says this, but the meaning in the Greek is that."  Only the EDV has done that for every single word in the books being studied. Pastors in years past have preached that reading the Bible in English is like watching a black and white TV; while reading the Bible in the Greek and Hebrew is like watching TV in living color.   Here is an example of a verse from the EDV compared to the King James Version:

1Peter 3:7 KJV  Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

1 Peter3:7 EDV       Likewise, husbands, reside together as a family by depending upon and being obedient to knowledge.  With word, action, and appearance impart dignity, esteem, honor, and value to your wife as the weaker person in whom you pour this high regard which gives renewed, healthy life and new significance.  And live in the manner of participants-in-common and heirs together in the grace of life (the divine influence upon the heart and it’s reflection in the life) so that your earnest prayers and worship are not hindered (held up, slowed down, or stalled), frustrated (obstructed, foiled), or cut off.

The EDV also includes an appendix showing the differences between the KJV and the NIV for the books studied, and it also has translation notes when the EDV meaning differs from the KJV meaning so you can check all of these differences.
